@mustang66lady wrote:Good Morning, what is left of it, Kitchenettes!
I am running and gunning this morning and am behind on everything. Haven't had time to read what is going on here yet but wanted to direct you all to the Life, Love and Sugar blog today and take a look at that cannoli layer cake she made. I think my computer is missing a bite! I am not even a "cake" person-I'm a pie person but this cake-Mama Mia! I do love a good cannoli and personally I think this cake would make a different but wonderful wedding cake. And not as sweet because the frosting contains mascarpone cheese. This young woman is a Di Vinci with cakes!
Will catch up with you all later!
OH NO! My waistline is in serious trouble now!
What I don't get is how the heck you get those chips (or nuts, jimmies, etc.) on to the SIDE of the cakes like that!
I totally make a huge mess every time I try to decorated the sides. My hand is filled w/ frosting...the chips don't stick...I have even tried THROWING them at the side of the cake! LOL
Anyone know how they DO that? What is the trick????
I can bake pretty dang good...but decorating will get me chopped everytime!

Thank you all dear friends for your support and prayers.
Everything went smoothly at the funeral. The organist lowered the keys for me and I was blessed to get through all three songs. I pray they were a blessing to God and an honor to papa Q.
I look forward to joining you guys again tomorrow.
Many hugs!!!Oh @RespectLife I have been thinking of you and Papa q's family all day. I am so glad to hear from you and that everything went well. You are a much stronger woman than I am, I never would have made it through the first verse of the first song. Take care my friend and God bless!
(((Respect)))
Tee hee! @momtochloe
I had a lot of help from God yesterday! I was way up, up in the balcony of this huge church. No one could hardly see me. I was not close to the services so high up and was not able to see the families grief.
Only my bosses family and DH knew I was singing. I made sure my 'guys' from work didn't know. That gave me peace and calm. I can do much better in front of strangers. I had a LOT of time to pray before that saddness would not overcome me.
You were all praying for me...and God answered!

Craigslist is indeed an interesting social experiment. Yesterday, I received a phone call on my ad for an Oreck vacuum cleaner that makes me laugh every time I recall it.
For some reason, many people feel the need to introduce themselves and their need for an item as being recently divorced. OK with that. This particular divorcee, in a dreamy sort of voice (drugs or alcohol suspected there) asked me whether the vacuum would suck up the cord if it ran over it.
Temporarily at a rare loss for words, I pondered this strange question and answered that the vacuum wouldn't suck up the cord because "you wouldn't let the vacuum run over the cord." (Best and only answer I could come up with.)
Then......I was asked whether the vacuum gets up pet hair. I said hmmmmmmmm......don't want to make any broad claims or generalizations but the vacuum has gotten up everything I've ever expected it to. She then "supposed" out loud that she could bring over some pet hair and see how it works.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm.........I warily asked "what kind of pet hair are we talking about?"
Her answer: cats
My response.........(already starting to scratch an itchy neck at the mere thought of my severe cat allergy)...was to emphatically state that this would not be acceptable. So much for that prospective sale!
Seriously.........is it normal to purposely bring pet hair into a stranger's home? Maybe there is some social norm developing out there that I'm not aware of.
Thank goodness, most customers and prospective customers are cool, calm, collected and SANE, all at the same time!!!

WOW!!!! Just WOW!!!!
Nope, not norm, not right!
I don't think you wanted her at your house LOL!!!
