I've been in the mood for everything apple lately!

Anyone ever make Apple Brown Betty?

I'm a huge fan of apple crisp.

Chili,

I associate apples with the fall.  There were lots of apple growers in the mountains of North Carolina where I grew up.  It was fun to make the trek to the mountains and get apples.

My mom used to make apple crisp, too.  It had uncooked oatmeal, apples, butter, sugar, cinnamon, and (I think) some flour to mix in with the oatmeal/butter/sugar/cinnamon.  She may have put some raisins and/or pecans in there, too.  Like so many things she made, I don't think she used a recipe.

I do remember how good the kitchen smelled when she made it.

Ya, they grow a lot of apples around here too. I used to take DD apple picking when she was younger.

Fun times plus we "sampled" one of every variety of apple in the orchard of course!

That's what I was leaning towards!

I have made Apple everyone except Miss Betty!

A cake like batter on top sounds yummy and different than the usual crumble I use.

Anyone have a recipe they have used for Betty?

We just went Apple Picking last Saturday.

The 'greens' weren't ready so no Granny Smith, but Empire & Mac were available.

I will not tell you how many Hot apple Cider Donuts I ate!

I spent a LOT of time in VT as a teen, they were farmers and had orchards galore!

VT apples are fantastic!

I am worried about @tiny 2

I hope she sees this.  A while back I posted how to reach me via email.  I hope she wrote it down so we can stay in touch.

@RespectLife

@mustang66lady @ChiliPepper @Writer with Flair @VaBelle35 @momtochloe    I am here. The new site is already up and the recipe section is in place. It is a good spot. I have a couple of private forums there for many years. I have already signed in along with many others. There is already a ChiliPepper there but I do not know if she is our @ChiliPepper. Does your email end with verizon?
