@ChiliPepper

I really like that.  Back when I wore anything other than blue jeans, that jacket would have been just my style -- and I've always been partial to blue.

Just to keep everybody up to speed, we just countered the first offer.  It's all cash and we would close on the 20th of February but allow me to stay in the house for an additional 60 days for free so fingers crossed that this gets wrapped up quickly . . . Smiley Happy

Good gracioous @momtochloe

Gonna keep reading to see what other news I missed this weekend!

Speaking of romance, I think I am going to have a long and loving relationship with those little pearl onions.  I finally remembered to look for them at the grocery store.  I found a ten ounce mesh bag of the fresh ones first, then went to look for the frozen ones.  I decided to experiment with the fresh ones first -- I figured I could always throw them away without much loss if they were too much of a pain to peel (hmmmm, new code, PTP ????).

There was a recipe on the bag for Roasted Balsamic Onions.  It said to put them in boiling water for 30 seconds - CLICK.  Peeling them really wasn't bad at all, although I can see it would be tedious to do enough for a family.  I popped one in my mouth while I was peeling and thought they really didn't need any more cooking to be to my taste.  I had some whipping cream in the fridge, so I just added some salt and a little bit of cornstarch to thicken instead of making a white sauce, and heated all together.

To quote RR -- YUMM-O!  Mashed potatoes with those sweet creamy onions spooned on top........ (Alone they weren't half bad as Onion S-O-U-P either.)

Whatya think -- should I be Inclusive and post a recipe for Whipping Cream Onions in the Forum to entice the Food Police ???????

Oh @Honeybit

You just brought a big sloppy smile to my face!

Dad rarely cooked, however, he did have a dish he made called Layoff Stew.  He made it the few times he was...yes, laid off from work.

It was peas, elbow mac, pearl onions and little chunks of chopped Pepperoni...Margharita brand only.

I wouldn't touch it!  LOL

Pearl Onions are going on my must try list now!  Never had them!

@RespectLife

Like every right-thinkiing child of my generation, I loved Roy Rogers and Trigger (Gene Autry and Champion weren't even in the running, so to speak).  Every chance I had, I would wish on a star, and the only thing I ever wished for was a horse.  My dad always promised me that when I was 13 and old enough to handle one, that if we lived where it was possible, I could have a horse.  And by the time I did, and we did, I had saved enough money from my allowance to pay for him.  We rode so many miles the horse shoes would wear through before his feet grew out enough to have to have him reshod (non-horse-persons ignore the technicalities!).  When we weren't out riding, I would sit out on the back porch reading a book, and he would stand and nap with his nose resting on my foot.

Yes, DEFINITELY the saddle!  A horse in the kitchen would be sort of impractical.

(P.S.  Once a group of church ladies pulled up to our front gate, obviously intent on paying us a visit.  When they saw a horse standing there with his head poked through what looked like the living room window, they inexplicably decided we weren't visitation material and hopped back into their car and drove away.)

And, no, he wasn't a palomino like Trigger.

I like the jacket @ChiliPepper

I think it is a subtle print.  I like the longer length!  Perfect for my stubbo body.

However, IMHO, I think it is styled all wrong!  I wouldn't pair it w/ brown pants and a white top at all.  This outfit looks mismatched to this fashion know-nothing!  LOL

I picture this with a deep navy tank and deep navy leggins.  Or all black.  Tonal underneath!

Let the jacket shine!  I would add a hip slung belt, a long tassel necklace and tall boots...with 4" heels of course!  But that is just me!  LOL

@RespectLife  That Layoff Stew actually sounds pretty good to me.  Until my friend from Wisconsin served her Creamed Onions at Thanksgiving and Christmas, I had never eaten them either.  All I knew about them was that they existed to be pickled and served with some drinks like an olive with a Martini.  I haven't tried my frozen ones yet, but the fresh ones have a sweet taste like Vidalia Onions.

I agree, I don't like the white shirt or the brown/grey leggings either.

I'm thinking black & black or blue like you said, if you could find just the right shade. Blues can be tricky.
