@RespectLife I hear you about movies. I have had a ball watching Barbershop 2 and this morning my beloved Pretty in Pink! I love movies that are easy on the soul and make you smile at the end . . . ![]()
I have never heard of Van Helsing or the Last of the Mohicans movies but they probably never fit my whatever you would call profile because I am quite the weenie when it comes to TV watching.
Just as a tee-hee, I just got a stern email from Amazon that I am cut off from their Prime content and other advantages . . . yes I know, that and that is why I let my membership lapse but thank you anyway . . . ![]()
Sigh.

lol Brilliant, ain't they?
VanHelsing is a movie with just about every goblin you can remember. Vampires, Werewolfs, Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyl/Mr. Hyde. Kind of an Indiana Jones 'ish' adventure movie.
One of Dracula's wives is played by Josie Maran (of Argon Oil/Qvc) LOL She dies early. I swear, everytime she is selling on Q...I find Van Helsing on a channel somewhere! LOL
You may actually like Last of the Mohicans. It is w/ Daniel Day-Lewis and Madeleine Stowe. It is a 'love' story of sorts...based on the novel by James Fenimore Cooper.
Set in New York during the French and Indian War. A little bit of gore with the battles but nothing R rated or bad. Beautiful scenery! More of a 'historical' movie.

Good morning ladies
First day back was not bad. I left at 3 and was able to make granola bars when I got home. I have been trying to make these for weeks, but my Andrew Lessman whey is still processing at HSN so I broke down and bought a few packets of organic whey at the store on Sunday so I could finally make these things.
I have a full day of meetings today, so I won't get anything done. Today is my "frank discussion" with my boss. Should be interesting.
WC#1 must have missed me. We presented together in the morning and he started to grill me about my vacation before his presentation, but I shooed him away. He came by my office 3x until I was finally off the phone and he sat down and proceeded grilled me on my vacation details. OMG I have to find out what he did in the military because he is very good at questioning witnesses. LOL He is so intense! At one point, I guess because I wasn't being clear enough for him, he specifically asked me if I did all this stuff alone. I would think at this point that would be very clear, but apparently not.
The plot thickens.
I have a meeting with WC#2 today. We shall see what he's up to. I had about 25 emails from him, basically talking to himself, while I was gone. It was cracking me up reading through them.
I am going to stop and buy the "good" bagels today for my morning meeting. I am afraid I set a precedent with this group and if I don't deliver, they may not show up to another meeting. I noticed that I have 100% participation this time, which has never happened before. I think they are afraid they won't get a bagel if they don't come to the meeting. LOL
re free HBO
I found a website that sends notifications out, so I signed up for that. We'll see if that works. I couldn't find anything on the Comcast site about it but they do post it on the Xfinity Facebook page (they call it a "Watchathon"). So between both places, I should be able to know about it in advance and plan accordingly.
I've never paid for premium channels up to this point. I really can't sit and watch tv for very long. Although, now that I can get it on my laptop through the Xfinity website and on my Kindle through the Xfinity app, I am free to roam about the house and watch tv.
I am enjoying watching Sportscenter in the morning when I get ready for work. I miss being able to rewind like I can on my tivo, but it's still nice to get all the baseball highlights.
Here is the recipe for the Granola Bars (from Experience Life Magazine adapted from Mark's Daily Apple):
Each bar has 184 calories, 14 grams of fat, 6 grams of carbs and 13 grams of protein.
Ingredients
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/2 cup macadamia nuts
1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1/4 cup nut butter (almond, cashew, walnut, hazelnut)
1/4 cup coconut oil
11/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. sea salt
1/4 cup almond meal
3/4 cup unsweetened whey protein powder
2 large eggs
1 large egg white
1/2 cup dried cranberries or blueberries
1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut, to sprinkle on top
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Cover a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread almonds, macadamia nuts and 1/4 cup shredded coconut in a single layer and toast until golden, about five to seven minutes. Set aside to cool.
When cool, place nuts and shredded coconut in food processor and pulse until nuts are chopped and the mixture becomes coarsely ground, the consistency of breadcrumbs.
In a mixing bowl, melt coconut oil and nut butter in the microwave, about 30 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir until smooth. Add vanilla extract and sea salt; mix thoroughly. Fold in the ground-nut mixture, almond meal and whey powder; mix until blended.
In a small bowl, beat the eggs and egg white until frothy, then stir into the nut mixture. Fold in the dried berries.
Press the mixture into an 8-inch-by-8-inch baking pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven, sprinkle the untoasted coconut on top and place under broiler until top begins to brown.
Let cool for 10 to 15 minutes. Cut into 12 bars. Stack on wax paper or parchment and store in an airtight container.
I took a picture but it's on my phone. I need to move it over to my laptop.

I forgot the best part.
In our meeting, we had a new hire who was either easily flustered or just a little batty. When my VP came down to "chat" she had a difficult time answering questions. The VP is very smooth. I was trying to help her out but I wasn't getting anywhere, but the VP very seemlessly moved on to another person and I noted that move for future reference. It was very impressive. Similarly, with the same person, while WC#1 was presenting, he asked what is a simple question and she got all flustered and batty again. I give him credit because I imagine he was screaming on the inside, but he looked very cool on the outside and was able to close out the question and move on. I think he can be a little intimidating to some people, but I think this person is just one of those people who needs to sit in a room alone and work quietly without interaction.
I don't have the patience for people, so it's a good learning experience for me to watch how others handle these situations and try to use them myself. Unfortunately, my face gives me away. Although, our security guard told me once that he wasn't even looking at me and he could feel "the heat of a thousand suns" when someone gave me an answer that I didn't want to hear. LOL

@VaBelle35 thank you for a very hardy laugh so early in the morning. That was a great move by your VP, sounds like a great guy. I've worked with folks that don't do well in group settings so I always tried to work around them if I saw they were getting flustered and then would double back to them after the meeting to make sure everybody had what they needed/wanted. A couple of them even said thank you and then knowing I was in the room and would run interference for them if they got ganged up on actually started to speak every once in a while. IT doesn't always produce the most social people . . . ![]()
Quick question on that whey protein . . . is it critical to that recipe (I have to go look up what it's benefits are). Thank you for the recipe as it looks interesting and I need to find something to replace my Kind bars . . . ![]()
And I think WC #1 is lost without you when you go on vacation (and WC#3) . . . good heavens I love your stories!
