Yesterday morning before I left the house, when I had some energy before beginning a hectic day, I spent 10 minutes preparing dinner in my crock pot. How wonderful it was to come home to a fully prepared meal. It smelled like Aunt Bea had been in my kitchen all afternoon cooking dinner.

As we ate last night, I told my DH that I wish every night, dinner was so easy. It got me thinking that I would love to use my crock pot everyday to add a bit of peace to my evenings. I am a teacher, so when school starts up, I feel like I am going crazy. My daughter is so busy with activities in the evenings that we often just give in to the fast food frenzy, and that is so unhealthy. Crock pot dinners would be great for the nights that we don't even get home until 7:45 or so. They would also be great for the nights that we have just an hour at home before running off to an activity. They would eliminate the temptation to just pick up dinner and they would also help when I am so tired at the end of the day that I can't stand to think about cooking a meal.

Let's share easy, quick crock pot meal ideas. The rules are, the preparation must take 10 minutes or less in the mornings. Also, the fewer the ingredients, the better.

Last night, I put a roast in the crock pot. I salted it well. I peeled a few potatoes and put them in. I opened a bag of green beans and put them in. I also opened a can of cream of mushroom soup and put that in. I then filled up the can with water and poured that in as well. It was a delicious meal.
