Prize Winning Apple Pie

Dough for a Double Crust Pie (2 c flour,1 t salt, 3/4 c Crisco,4 T cold water)

3 c Granny Smith apples (Peeled and sliced) I used 10 small ones.

1/2 c white sugar

1/2 c brown sugar

1 stick of butter, melted

3 T flour

2 T water

1 t cinnamon

Melt the butter, add the flour, stir then add the white, brown sugar, cinnamon and water. Put just the apples in the bottom pie crust. Pour the butter /sugar sauce over the apples. (Save a little to brush on the top crust.) Top with the top crust. Crimp the edges. Put 4 slits in the top. Brush on butter/sugar sauce on top. Bake at 350* for 1 hour or until brown. It will firm up as it cools, serve with vanilla ice cream.

This was soo goood. Hubby said it was outstanding and over the top!!!
