@Katcat1How did it turn out? Now you've made me hungry for pound cake! What size pan did you use for the 1/2 recipe? I do have a couple of small loaf pans probably 1/2 size I could do this in. ![]()

@In-x-s I think the full recipe would be better in a regular loaf pan. It was good (I have made better) but I had a taste for something sweet. I made it in a stoneware loaf pan that it a little smaller than a tin loaf pan. I edited my original recipe to include the measurements for the full recipe.

I considered making my pound cake, I usually have a house full on Sundays but DS was sick and the gang all stayed home. So I took a vacation day, LOL
My recipe is 3 sticks of butter (I use Blue Bonnet margarine), 3 cups of sugar, 6 eggs, then 3 cups of flour, 1 T of vanilla and 1 t of almond extract. It goes into a big tube pan. I can also make it in 2 small bundt pans. I've never tried to half it.
My recipe makes the best crunchy crust ever.
I'm hungry for pound cake now! Wish I had made it.
I have made it with butter but to my taste it's just as good with the Blue Bonnet.
I don't do award shows, I was watching Breaking Bad marathon & knitting.

Do you think the Blue Bonnet gives it the crunchy crust?
I have read and seen other recipes calling for margarine.
You deserve a vacation day.

I don't think so
The original recipe calls for butter, but the name of the recipe is crusty pound cake
I think it's the large amount of flour & eggs.
??
I'm no baker. I'm an eater, LOL

Thank you for sharing the recipe. If there's a better aroma than a pound cake baking in the oven, I don't know what it is. It must be a cat thing, because I make a poundcake almost every weekend. My DH is so thin, the doctor tells him to gain weight and one thing he loves is pound cake. He'll eat a couple of slices each evening and by the end of the week it's time to bake another. This week I made a sour cream/blueberry pound cake, but his all time favorite is this marble one of Martha's. I'm sorry but I'm too lazy tonight to type it all out.

I don't think there's any such thing as a bad pound cake LOL! Thank you for the recipe. I did not get around to making the half one today (did get so far as to take the butter out this morning though
