Potluck style food? Do you take the same things every-time??

I was wondering if you all take the same things most of the time, Iv found a few dishes that I love to take that always get rave reviews!!

Could you post your favorites and the recipes please? Thank you

Brittany

Corn salad

2 (15 ounce) cans whole kernel corn, drained
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup green pepper, chopped
1/2 cup red onion, chopped
1 (10 1/2 ounce) bag coarsely crushed Frito's chili cheese corn chips (I could not find these so I mixed 1/2 regular and 1/2 barbecue corn chips)
Mix first 5 ingredients and chill. Stir in corn chips just before serving.

Pistachio salad
1 (3 1/2 ounce) package Jell-O instant pistachio pudding mix
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pin-apple (not drained)
1 cup mini marshmallows
1 (8 ounce) carton small curd cottage cheese
1 (8 ounce) carton Cool

Mix all ingredients in the order given, and refrigerate 1 hour

Grape jelly meatballs
2 (12 ounce) bottles Heinz Chili Sauce
1 (32 ounce) jar grape jelly
1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
3 (5 lb) bags frozen cocktail meatballs (I get these at Costco)

Combine first three ingredients in a medium saucepan and heat until warm.

Dump meatballs in crock pot and pour sauce over. Cook on low 3-4 hours.

I usually volunteer to bring napkins, plates and cups, so, yes. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

I like to 'mix it up' a bit. Plus, I think it depends on the type of crowd you're serving and the event.

The only one I participate in is at work and they change it up every year in terms of which floors/departments bring which types of dishes.

I am new to the whole pot luck world, but I prefer to bring dessert.

Have you been to the wedding yet? What dish did you decide to take?

They were talking about this on A.M. Style; if you can check out the Facebook page, people were posting their favorite potluck recipes. HTH

The kitchen is out of my comfort zone, so I can't help you out with any recipes. The only potlucks I attend are at work functions, and I'll typically bring something in from the Publix Deli - artichoke dip, banana pudding, pies, etc.

From Leah-

Bacon Deviled Eggs

One dozen eggs

3 tablespoons Mayonnaise

1 tablespoon dijon mustard

3 slices cooked crispy bacon, crumbled (not bacon bits)

chives

Hard boil the eggs. Shell and cut lengthwise. Place whites on a plate and yolks in a mixing bowl. Add mayonnaise and dijon mustard to egg yolks. Mix well with a fork. For extra creamy filling, add more mayonnaise and use an electric hand mixer. Fill hardboiled whites with the yolk mixture. You can use a spoon or a mini ice cream scooper, or a cookie press, if you want to get extra fancy. Top the eggs with filled eggs with chives and bacon.
