This recipe was posted by Marylander. She said she found it in the "Fix it and Forget it" five ingredient cookbook.

Re: Post your good Slow Cooker recipes

It seems most of the recipes are for chicken - here's another one - probably the easiest one of all.

4-5 boneless skinless chicken thighs

jar of prepared salsa - any strength you like.

Crockpot on low for 6 hours.

Serve.

Re: Post your good Slow Cooker recipes

I just made a semi-boneless pork shoulder roast the other day.

It was 4.75lbs. I made slits and put in garlic.

1 pkg. of dried Zesty Italian dressing

1 bottle of beer

1 cut up onion

a generous sprinkle of dried Italian seasoning

I had it on low for 5 1/2 hours and it was delicious. The left over pork made excellent sandwiches with some mayo, tomato, onion and lettuce.

I'm eating the crock chicken cold as a sandwich--really tender and moist.

As to the pots cooking faster, yes, they do. The USDA decided the old pots weren't safe at low temps, so all pots raise temp to the high temp at the end of cooking. And it takes less time. So not so easy to cook all day when you are at work any more.

I've heard about this, so I'm not giving up my "old" crockpot even though the inner cooking pot is starting to chip. Do you think the chips are hazardous to my health in any way?

2 lbs. boneless chicken pieces

1 cup packed brown sugar

2/3 cup vinegar

1/4 cup lemon lime soda (like 7-up or sprite)

1 OR 2 Tablespoons minced garlic

2 Tablespoons soy sauce

1/2 teaspoon black pepper (or more to taste)

Place chicken in crockpot. Combine remaining ingredients. Pour over chicken. Cover; cook on low for 6-8 hrs. Serve over cooked al dente buttered noodles. To thicken sauce, combine 1 1/2 Tbsp cornstarch with 2 Tbsp of water and add to the crockpot.

I have this in my crock pot right now, smells good, can't wait to taste it in a couple of hours. I will be trying some of these other ones listed also. Cold weather/crock pot cooking...love it.

Re: Post your good Slow Cooker recipes

snickster: your recipe has a very interesting bunch of ingredients. What does the juices taste like? Does it have an oriental taste or a sweet and sour? Would love to try it. I'm getting sick of the same ole same ole and want to try something different. and this sounds great. AnneMary
