As I'm getting older, I'm becoming more and more of a minimalist.  I donated all but five of my favorite vintage cookbooks, and you are right that the empty space is calming.  If you are on the fence about getting rid of something, I suggest putting it in a box in the basement or a closet and making a note to revisit it in six months or a year. If you haven't needed it in that time, then get rid of it.

You're right, it's been a year since I used any but one.  So.......there you go!
