from my latest Taste of Home magazine. If you want to get creative and not reach for the box of Mrs. Butterworth. LOL Think I'll try it and see if it's a keeper.

The Best Ever Pancakes

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

2 tablespoons sugar

1 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

whisk together

Stir into dry ingredients:

1 c. buttermilk

2 large eggs

1/4 c. melted butter (1/2 stick)

1 tsp vanilla

grease a griddle, pour by 1/4 cups, cook till bubbles form, flip

cook till lightly browned.

I don't do pancakes (so what do I know?) but saw a recipe once where it said - - a must to put batter in refrig for X of time and that made the Best "P".    Allow the batter to 'rest'.......  Taste of Home was in my home at one time so I wouldn't dare question their suggestions!    Happy flap-jacks to you.

Hate to break your bubble but Mrs Butterworth comes in a jar/bottle and most importantly it's pancake syrup!

I have yet tasted good pancakes that didn't come from the Bisquick box. Smiley Wink

That's pretty close to the recipe I use. DH loves when I add chocolate chips.

Darn............I wanted to say...isn't Mrs. Butterworth fake syrup?  But Sharky is never wrong so I didn't dare stick my neck out that far!  As I posted, I don't do pancakes and, when I do, I use real VT or NYS maple.   Guess "S" doesn't do pancakes much either!

Give me 2 eggs over easy and one slice of bacon!

Not true.  Mrs Butterworth does come in a box of pancake mix and you just add water.

I never use a mix.   Don't make them too often anymore, due to health issues.

@SharkE

That's sound yummy. Let me know how they turn out.

@Barbarainnc posted this recipe. We have been using it since. It's really good. We add pecans to the pancakes & serve with hot maple syrup. YUM!!!

Fluffy Pancakes

Mix 3/4 c milk + 2 T white vinegar, let set 5 mins.

Add 1 beaten egg

In another bowl mix 1 c AP flour, 2 T sugar, 1 t baking powder, 1/2 t baking soda, 1/2 t salt, add to milk mixture, stir

Add 2 T melted butter, mix just til combined, batter will be thick

Pour 1/4 c on a lightly greased griddle. When it starts to bubble turn it over.
