In the temps we have right now, we won't be doing anything mayonnaise based. We will be eating outside with my kids and grands next week. We are planing to grill steaks, chops and seafood. I'll bake or boil potatoes, and we should have fresh corn to cook. That's pretty much it. We keep foil on top of the food to keep the flies off. They are out worst enemy.

I don't blame you on the mayo. That was what the doctor said caused my food poisoning when I was a teenager. I thought I was dying. I was so sick vomiting.

Re: Outdoor picnic anyone?

[ Edited ]

Normally, I either take a big fruit salad and usually a big tray of brownies with it.  I've also taken a pretzel bite tray with dip, if I've been short on time or a last minute picnic.  I bought one once from Aunt Annie's pretzels.  It was a big hit!  My local grocery store carries them as well.

I haven't been to a picnic since the 80's!

To tell the truth, even on a good day I am not a picnic fan.  Eat inside and go for a walk or sit and admire nature later. My family never picniced either.

Our church has a picnic. I like to take a lot of lemonade. Paul Newman's brand is excellent.

Ditto! - Every cookout, BBQ, picnic, or other outdoor activity that involved food that I have ever attended had ants, flies and other insects also in attendance.

Eating outdoors? - No thanks! Smiley Wink

Not really a fan--however, cooking while camping is really a daily picnic and I do enjoy doing that. Seems like the everyday food cooked outdoors always tastes so much better.

@qualitygal .  Sandwiches.  Will also make my macaroni salad and buy red skin potato salad.   Marinated mozzarella balls.  Potato chips and onion dip.  Fruit dip with strawberries and bananas.  Cookies.  Thermos of coffee and soda. This list just made me hungry. Lol
