This recipe is from my mil. She makes it often for family gatherings. Her mom used to make it too. I took this photo a couple days after she made the salad so it's not that good but it does set up pretty in a serving bowl.

Orange (or lime) Jello Salad

1 ( 3 oz. ) pkg. lime or orange jello

small marshmallows- a few handfuls

cottage cheese - a few spoonfuls

crushed pineapple, drained (I don't use a whole large can) reserve juice to mix with water for jello

walnuts if desired

cool whip- thawed

Add hot water to jello--add marshmallows and let melt a little, then add cottage cheese. Add cold water. Chill until slightly thickened. Add pineapple and walnuts if desired. Fold in cool whip (I use most of a reg. carton). Chill until set.
