Re: On Making WHIPPED CREAM...

UPDATE to all

I brought the cake and whipped cream to the get together tonight. They really bragged over the whipped cream I made.

Yes, 1/2 granulated sugar and 1/2 powdered sugar. Plus the 1/4 t of cream of tartar was perfect. BUT, I had forgotten to use a bit of vanilla.....

Didn't matter. People liked that I did not make the cream too sweet. I used the sugars, sparingly.

They took  cake and whipped cream home with them, so I don't have a lot of leftovers! Glad for that too.

Thanks everyone!

Re: On Making WHIPPED CREAM... SEE UPDATE @ THE END POST

I've used either powdered or fine granulated sugar, both works. I've also added cornstarch to give it stability.

For 1 cup of heavy cream, I use 2 tablespoons powdered sugar and one tablespoon instant vanilla pudding to stabilize it. It prevents weeping. Maybe a bit of vanilla too!

i always use confectioners sugar and vanilla (or whatever flavored extract you like.)
