Just made these - they're fast and good!

OATMEAL COOKIE BROWNIES

2 1/2 cups Quick or Old-Fashioned Oats

3/4 cup flour

3/4 cup dark brown sugar

1/2 tsp. baking soda

3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened

1 19.5-19.8 oz. brownie mix

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1/4 cup water

1 cup chocolate chips (butterscotch would be nice too!)

Preheat the oven to 350 and grease the bottom of a 9 X 13 pan.

In a large bowl, mix the oats, flour, sugar, baking soda, then mix in the butter. (Honestly, the best way to do this is just squish it up with your clean hands.)

Reserve 1 cup of the mixture; set aside. Press the rest on the bottom of the pan, and bake for 10 minutes.

Remove from oven and cool for a few minutes.

Combine the brownie mix, eggs, water, and oil with a wooden spoon until well-blended, then stir in the chocolate chips.

Spread the brownie batter over the cookie crust, and sprinkle the rest of the cookie dough over the top.

Bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool before cutting into bars.
