Southern California has a lot medical professionals, and others, who are Seventh Day Adventist. They have influenced the vegetarian diet discussion, and have products available to use for those who don't want meat protein in their diets. I'm not Adventist so I don't know all of the details, but I have several Adventist friends. A friend, Linda, is the widow of a dentist from the Adventist community. Last year she brought over a delicious casserole and when I was putting it together tonight, I was getting a bit silly, remembering her husband, Bob, who would have smiled at my silliness. This is the result (but I will list the recipe, too) so that it will soften any aggravation you might feel from such a silly post:

If your dentist Is Adventist
And his politics are centrist,
You can pro’lly have a burger now and then.

But if your dentist, the Adventist,
Is not the least bit centrist
You can consider that the carrot is your friend.

And now, with thanks to the Adventist community, the delicious recipe:

Linda's Special K Loaf

large carton cottage cheese
4 c crushed Special K cereal
5 eggs
1 c chopped pecans
3 Worthington broth packets
1 onion, chopped
1 stick butter

Combine ingredients well and put in 9 x 12 baking dish.

Bake at 325 deg F for 45 min.

Raise temp to 350 deg F and bake for additional 15 min.

Our local health system is Adventist. Great place if you need medical care. They also have an open cafeteria with vegetarian dishes and wonderful fresh baked bread. some of them do eat chicken and their food is delicious.

Love your silly rhyme. When the kids were small we would make up rhymes or sing, making up the words about what we saw on the trip. It was so much fun! The sillier the better!

I did post it, AuntG following my 'poem'. I don't know why your screen doesn't show it, but I'll repeat it here for you:
