All I want is turkey, derssing, a little gravy, and cranberry sauce with a glass of white zin.

I am happy.

I serve the other from the standpoint of nutrition.

But what if someone at the table cannot eat bread stuffing because of gluten intolerance? Potatoes or corn would be thoughtful to serve @ECBG .

Sorry, but if you have nutrition on your mind...alcohol, sugary cranberry sauce, high fat dressing, gravy ? That is definitely not healthy.

@Trinity11

I have no one in that group.  I would have taken care of that before hand.

OK but upthread you stated you " taught nutrition." I would think you would like your memory refreshed that both stuffing and rice are starches @ECBG . 🥺

Others will eat rice, prefer it with stir fry.  Rice never did anything for me unless we had my grandmother's housekeeper's fried chicken gravy.  She was a wonderful cook!

@Trinity11    I point them out too.    Lots of inconsistencies.  Lots.   I'm not sure why the repetitive repeated list of credentials.   Comes across as trying to be superior I guess.

We always serve stuffing and mashed potatoes. 2 types of stuffing - regular and oyster for DH. And of course mashed potatoes. Rice isn't on the menu at Thanksgiving. And yes, rice is a starch. I thought everyone knew that. 😜

Have you ever had sweet potato pie?  I loved it as a child.

@ECBG

My mother only served pumpkin pie.  I'd never even tried a sweet potato pie until about a year ago.  I always though who wants a pie made from potatoes?  LOL

Well, last year I was in Walmart and there was a display of Patti LaBelle's Sweet Potato Pies.  I figured ... what the heck, and bought one.

I must say ... it was excellent.  I bought another one a couple weeks later.

I have stuffing (dressing depending on where you live) and rice because it's a grain and a different texture.

Since I taught nutrition, I would never serve dressing and potatoes, and corn, or any combination of the two.

@ECBG

If you taught nutrition, you know that stuffing and dressing are not the same.

@Nonametoday

Well, this is new information for me .... in your opinion, what's the difference between stuffing and dressing?
