I got this recipe from the local newpaper. It is a reprint from 1974. The newspaper has brought back the best recipes from the past 40 years.

No-Knead Oatmeal Bread
Makes 2 loaves

2 cups boiling water
1 cup quick-cooking oatmeal
1/3 cup shortening
1/2 cup honey or light molasses
1 tbsp. salt
2 pkgs. dry yeast
2 eggs, beaten
5-1/2 cups flour

1.) Combine the water, oats, shortening, honey and salt; cool to lukewarm. Add yeast; mix well.
2.) Blend in eggs. Add flour until well blended (this will be a soft dough).
3.) Place dough in greased bowl and cover. Refrigerate until needed, at least 2 hours.
4.) On a well floured board, shape dough into 2 loaves. Place in greased 9x5" pans and cover. Let rise until double.
5.) Bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour.
