Bought cake mix autumn one to make for ladies luncheon this week. I purchased mine at WM and plan to make 2 - 6"" cakes from the mix.

Berta -- thanks for taking the time to post about these new cake mixes. I'm always looking for something different. I'll be heading out to my Dollar General tomorrow. Thanks again!

Dollar Stores & no one else has these? Hum, might U wonder Y? As in out dated, made in China etc.

Dollar General is not a dollar store; it's a discount store.

I saw them at Walmart and Target! I was intrigued too. Enjoy them....where ever you bought them from.

She did not say dollar store, she said Dollar General. Big difference, they carry the same products as the supermarkets. Last year I found a Jello candy cane dessert that I couldn't find elsewhere. I always check expiration dates no matter where I shop & the expired ones are usually at Safeway, not Dollar General.

These might be fun when used to make a checkerboard cake; I have a pan (that I've never used for that purpose), but there might be google instructions out there somewhere that tell how to do it without special equipment.

It sounds fun. I may look into it for a work potluck.

Dollar General carries the same products as the grocery store, good grief, people are so judgmental!! I find a lot of things there that aren't at Kroger even. I love my Dollar General, especially when I don't have to fight the crowd at the grocery store!!

Why is Dollar Tree being bashed? Sure, everything is $1, but all products are guaranteed fresh. They actually have more stores than Walmart, so their buying power is incredible. Now, the dollar stores that are springing up all over the place and sell out-of-date products and no-name brands are another story.

I've seen these mixes as Walmart, but don't really care to get them - nothing special or unique about the taste, it's just about adding lots of artificial coloring. {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

I saw the red/green one at WM.....I don't know what flavor it is but looks like you could just use a white cake and tint one layer green and one red.

We don't have a Dollar General around here but lots of Dollar Tree stores. I don't consider Dollar Tree to be a typical "dollar store" because they are clean, well-stocked, and well-managed. I go in there all the time for different things; if I see name-brand grocery items I will buy them if the freshness date is okay..

If you are freaked out at the idea of food from a dollar store or Dollar General, then don't buy it!
