Re: Need Dill sauce recipe for salmon please

I just make it up as I go along - start with Mayo - add few squirts of lemon juice - dash of garlic powder - then add dry dill weed. Stir together and chill until dinner time.

For tarter sauce with other fish - Mayo - the garlic - lemon - and prepared pickle (green) relish.

Are these different from what you had?

Re: Need Dill sauce recipe for salmon please

This is the recipe I got from the Jorge Cruise Fast Track book, and it is delicious! I don't think I used garlic, and I did not even use fresh dill, I used a little dried dill that I had on hand. I am sure fresh dill would be delicious.

Dill Sauce:

½ cup Plain Greek Yogurt (I recommend Fage)

2 Tablespoons mayonnaise

1 garlic clove, minced

2 Tablespoons heavy cream

1 teaspoon chopped fresh dill

¼ teaspoon dried oregano

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and chill in refrigerator.

Re: Need Dill sauce recipe for salmon please

A good one I've made for salmon is mixing some Greek yogurt with a little mayo and Dijon mustard. To that I add some dill weed and a little stevia for sweetness. Makes it taste like honey mustard dressing with dill.

thanks a lot. We both love salmon and while I like it plain or anyway at all, DH will only eat it with dill sauce so he has been ordering that out. Thanks to you ladies I can make it more often at home.

1 cup sweet champagne (or white wine)
1/2 cup whipping cream
Cornstarch or flour and water (optional)
salt & pepper & dill to taste
Directions:
Put champagne in small saucepan; bring to boil. Reduce heat to simmer; add cream and continue to heat, stirring frequently, but do not let mixture boil. Add salt & pepper to taste. Cook 10 to 15 minutes, or until thickened and reduced.
A mixture of small amount of cornstarch or flour and water may be added to thicken, if desired. Sauce should flow without being too thick. Note: if doing this, blend the cornstarch or flour with the water in a small jar and add gradually to the sauce.
