Well here we are my friends, time to get ready for the Holiday Recipe Marathon! Now please remember this is a long distance race so pace yourself, stay hydrated and stretch often . . . hopefully out on the couch with a hydrating beverage . . .
First up is my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. Such a wide variety of mains and sides to choose from so please share your best of the best (and if they incude sweet potatoes I would consider it a personal favor). Many thanks to our friend @walker for giving us an open playing field by letting us chose the next ingredient:
Oven Denver Omelette
8 large EGGS
1/2 cup Half and Half
1 cup shredded cheese
1 cup chopped ham
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1/4 cup chopped onion
Whisk EGGS and cream; stir in remaining ingredients. Pour into a greased 9" square baking dish. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes until golden on top. Test center with knife to see if set.
NEXT INGREDIENT .... POSTER'S CHOICE
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, START YOUR OVENS!

Crockpot sweet potatoes
Spray a 4 or 5 qt. crockpot and preheat while preparing
3-4 pounds of sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1" cubes about 8 cups
In a small bowl combine,
4 tablespoons of melted butter
1/4 cup of packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon of fine sea salt ( morton)
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
Pour over sweet potatoes in crockpot and stir well
You have 2 options of cook time
cook one hour on low and then 2 hours on high
OR
3 hours on low and one hour on high
For Thanksgiving sweet potatoes you can 1 1/2 x the recipe and cook in a 5 or 6 quart crockpot. I cook on high for 3 hours. Remove lid and top with mini marshmallows. Replace lid and let melt 15 minutes.

I got this back in 2021.....
No rolling or chilling of pie dough required. The crust is made from a batter making this a cross between a pie, a cobbler, and a cake. Flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, butter, milk, egg, and apple pie filling. Only takes a minute to make and is ready to eat in about 30 minutes.
I don't use canned apple pie filling so here is the recipe I used
