Not a tried and true, but to keep moving forward.........
Caramelized Pearl Onions
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon butter
1 (10-ounce) package pearl onions
1/3 cup water
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
2 tablespoons dry white wine
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Preparation
Heat oil in a medium nonstick skillet over medium heat. Melt butter in pan. Add onions, and cook 5 minutes or until lightly browned, shaking pan frequently. Add water and sugar, and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 8 minutes. Uncover and cook 2 minutes or until liquid evaporates. Stir in thyme and remaining ingredients; cook 1 minute.

Pepperoni and Cheese Crescents
Ingredients:
1 (8-oz.) can Pillsbury™ Refrigerated Crescent Dinner Rolls
24 slices (about 5 oz.) pepperoni
2 oz. (1/2 cup) shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup tomato pasta or pizza sauce, heated
1 Heat oven to 375°F. Separate dough into 8 triangles; pat out each triangle slightly.
2 Place 3 slices pepperoni, slightly overlapping, on center of each triangle. Top each with about 1 tablespoon cheese.
3 Roll up, starting at shortest side of triangle and rolling to opposite point. Place rolls, point side down, on ungreased cookie sheet.
4 Bake at 375°F. for 10 to 14 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet. Serve warm crescents with warm pasta sauce for dipping.

Hearty Pizza Soup from Gooseberry Patch
Ingredients
Ground italian pork sausage 1 Pound
Onion 1/2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
Green pepper 1/2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
Water 4 1/4 Cup (68 tbs), divided
Italian seasoning 1/2 Teaspoon
Garlic powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Dried basil 1/4 Teaspoon
Dried rosemary 1/8 Teaspoon
Salt 1/8 Teaspoon
Pepper 1/8 Teaspoon
Pizza sauces 30 Ounce (2 jars of 15 Oz each
Tomatoes 2 , chopped
Pepperoni 6 Ounce, chopped
FOR GARNISH
Shredded mozzarella cheese 2 Tablespoon
Chopped mushrooms 2 Tablespoon
MAKING
1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground Italian pork sausage and drain.
2. Add in onion, green pepper and ÂĽ cup of water, and cook until tender.
3. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, dried basil, dried rosemary, salt and pepper and stir to mix and set aside.
4. In a large saucepan over medium heat, put together pizza sauce, remaining water, tomatoes, pepperoni and sausage mixture, bring to a boil.
5. Once the mixture starts to boil, reduce the heat to medium low and simmer for about 15 minutes.
SERVING
6. Serve hot topped with shredded cheese and chopped mushrooms

I'll bail you out, House_cat! I don't use egg nog in cooking but I found this this morning and it looks like something I can enjoy!
Eggnog Latte (Better Than Starbucks)
Here's a tasty (better-than-Starbucks!) Eggnog Latte recipe. It's so easy to make a latte at home without an espresso maker!
Ingredients
· 2 tbsp. granulated sugar
· ? cup milk
· ? cup eggnog
· ½ cup prepared unflavored coffee at double concentration (or 2 shots espresso)
· pinch of ground nutmeg, optional (but oh so tasty)
Instructions
1. To make the steamed milk, there are 2 methods: (1) Using a Stick Blender or (2) Using a large glass jar with a tight lid.
2. Pour the milk, eggnog and sugar into a microwave-safe jar or cup. I use the mixing cup that came with my stick blender.
3. Either using the stick blender or your hands, shake/mix the milk mixture vigorously for 30-45 seconds. Stop when the mixture appears to have doubled in volume due to air bubbles.
4. Remove the cover, if applicable, and place the mixture into the microwave. Heat on high for 30-45 seconds, or until the mixture starts to bubble up almost to the top of the jar. Take care not to let the milk mixture overflow the jar or to bubble too much and then fall flat.
5. Repeat these two steps (shaking and then heating) a second time until the milk is nice and frothy.
6. Pour the hot prepared coffee (or espresso) into the bottom of a deep mug. Holding back the milk foam with a spoon, carefully pour the milk mixture into the coffee. Do not stir. Gently spoon the foam over the top. Sprinkle with some freshly grated (or ground) nutmeg if you wish.

This is one of our favorites, and I prefer the basil, but it works with almost any herb of choice:
My Linguini with Herbed Shrimp
1/2 lb linguini or spaghetti
3 T butter
3 T olive oil
1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 garlic clove, chopped
1/3 c freshly grated imported Parmesan cheese
1/4 c finely chopped fresh oregano, thyme, basil and/or
parsley
salt/freshly ground black pepper to taste
Boil and drain pasta 8-9 minutes. In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil; add shrimp and garlic; cook until shrimp turn opaque or pink. Turn and cook the second side. Combine the hot cooked pasta, shrimp mixture, parmesan and herbs. Add salt and pepper. May be made ahead and repeated. Serves 2 as a main course, 4-6 as a starter.
