I appreciate everyone's feedback. Never again will I leave fresh ANYTHING in the fridge for that long. I just assumed the sell by date meant it would stay fresh.
In any event......every other dish turned out wonderful and I used the Shady Brook turkey in a turkey casserole.
So....it's all good!

I did see your first posting but don't recall - how long did you have turkey in your refrig?
Perhaps bird was mis-handled along its travel from farm to processing plant - to - store to you. (like left out of cold storage for too log - or - freezer temp not low enough so partial thawing began)
Somehow I don't believe it was your fault.

You mean you still cooked and served it to people?
Could the odor of the thing give you a hint something was wrong.
Did you offer a side dish of Pepto Bismol..............Poor souls.
