Not too long ago I bought a box of Quaker Raisin Spice Instant Oatmeal.

Tried it one morning - it was just okay.  Not bad, just "not good."

The other day, I had an idea .... and a box of Buttermilk Pancake Mix.

Experiment:

One package instant oatmeal

Equal amount of pancake flour

Mix them together and add enough water to make it look like pancake batter.

Make pancakes in the usual manner.

Serve with maple syrup .... delicious.

Bonus:  leftovers make a great afternoon snack.

Definitely plan on doing this with other instant oatmeal flavors.

How clever of you.  I just may try it some time.

That sounds delicious!  Grocery shopping the last few weeks and have seen "Fruity Pebbles" pancake "syrup" ..........it just boggles my mind.  Kind of orange-red, and in my opinion, disgusting. LOL Capture.JPG

@ALRATIBA    Sounds good -  and maybe the only reason I'd try anything but basic 5-minute plain Quaker Oats.   I never found a flavor better than adding my own extras.

Great idea. I should try it for my hubby, who will eat oatmeal and pancakes. I don't like either.

All I will use oatmeal for is cookies or as part of my apple crisp topping.

Probably geared more toward children.
