My No Knead Kalamata & Castello Olive Bread (First Time Making This One)

Thought I would share a picture of how my No Knead Kalamata & Castello Olive bread turned out yesterday to have along with Thanksgiving dinner.  I've made other No Knead breads, but this was the first time for this one.  It was delicious too!   20241128_135059.jpgIMG_20241128_151018439.jpg

I make bread the old fashioned way and thought I would give the no knead a try because alll my friends raved about it.  It was way too crunchy and crusty and I wouldn't make it again.  At least I tried it.

@CelticCrafter  Strangely, this no knead bread was not really  crunchy/crusty on its exterior.  I think it was because of the moisture in the olives that kept the crust from getting hard.

Looks delicious!  I'll take a slice with some olive oil for dipping.

@HLP   I used the Dutch Oven method as listed in this recipe.  I find a Dutch Oven works best for No Knead breads.  Here is the recipe website:

sallysbakingaddiction.com  easy-olive-bread

p.s.  I made the recipe the day before, refrigerated the dough as indicated until the next day, then proceeded with the directions for baking.

I have been wanting to make no-knead bread ever since Meredith, the Blue Jean Chef, was a QVC vendor.

@deepwaterdotter   That's exactly how it was served!   (Extra Virgin Olive oil, red pepper flakes, a little salt and some dried Italian seasonings and a pinch of garlic powder.  Mix it all up and dip in!)

Your bread looks delicious and easy to make.

When I went to check out the recipe, I noticed a cranberry walnut no knead bread recipe.  It looks like the expensive loaf I buy from Costco.

I am going to give both recipes a try.  These would make nice gifts for someone too.

Thank you for posting.  I always appreciate your cooking/ baking ideas and recipes.
