Re: My Favorite Dessert I made for Thanksgiving

I made it once and it is fine, but I just really love the old fashioned custard version you bring to a boil over the stove top.

Re: My Favorite Dessert I made for Thanksgiving

@Goodie2shoes : The last time that I purchased the Nilla  Vanilla Wafers to make the traditional banana pudding , the wafers tasted different and didn't like them. Then I purchased a store brand of vanilla water and didn't like them. Haven't made banana pudding in months. Need to try this but a large amount for just 2 people.

@SouthernBee

At this stage, my husband has little desire for food, so I'm not putting much effort into cooking, altho I'm still finding ways to entice him to eat some solid food.

Last week I made him individual servings of banana pudding with instant pudding mixed with cool whip, served over crushed graham crackers mixed with a little melted butter, with a few slices of banana.  Super simple, he enjoyed it, and there was no waste.

I used the regular sized Jello Instant French Vanilla pudding which is the only size I have found at the grocery store and I found the same size cool whip from the recipe. I read @ RedTop's suggestion which sounds good if that works for you. Good Luck, sorry I have no other suggestions let me know what worked for you. It's so good so I hope you get to try it !

Re: My Favorite Dessert I made for Thanksgiving

@Goodie2shoes : I didn't find the French vanilla pudding but the instant vanilla pudding in the needed size. They had sold out of the  french vanilla .I purchased the 16 ounce cool whip and will measure out the needed amount but when order delivered they had sold out of the chess man cookies. I will try another store. I really want to try the recipe. Friends will be visiting next week and they love bananas pudding. Thanks.

Re: My Favorite Dessert I made for Thanksgiving

I made this with strawberries instead of bananas. I used nilla wafers. Everyone loved it. This stuff is so delicious & dangerous. 😄
