My Favorite Dessert I made for Thanksgiving

 I made 3 of these pudding desserts one for each of my children to take home ( they ask for it every holiday) and one for our TG dinner. Just thought I would pass the recipe along for those who might want to try it.  It's also online of course. This stuff is awesome !! I have to control my eating this b/c of my hx of Diabetes but it's sooo good ! Enjoy  Woman Very Happy

Paula Deen's Not Yo Mamma's Banana Pudding Recipe

  • 1 (12-oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed, or equal amount sweetened whipped cream
  • 1 (14-oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (8-oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 (5-oz) box instant French vanilla pudding mix
  • 6 to 8 bananas, sliced
  • 2 bags chessmen cookies

Line the bottom of a 13x9x2-inch dish with 1 bag of cookies and layer bananas on top.

In a bowl, combine the milk and pudding mix and blend well using a handheld electric mixer. Using another bowl, combine the cream cheese and condensed milk together and mix until smooth. Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture. Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and stir until well blended. Pour the mixture over the cookies and bananas and cover with the remaining cookies. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

@Goodie2shoes

Thank you so much for this great-sounding recipe!

I am thinking I'd like to take something over to DDs house for our family Christmas dinner!
I’m going to their house Christmas Day and I think they would really like this!

I love the addition of Chessmen cookies.  And much faster than my grandma's recipe of standing over the stove stirring sugar, egg yolks, cornstarch, and half-and-half until it thickens.

Much faster and I think it taste better than the old banana pudding recipe my mom and grandma used to make including cooked jello vanilla pudding and vanilla wafers.

@AuntG    When you find the cookies..buy them...I had a hard time finding them the first year and then the next year searched for quite a while before they were back on the shelves.
