Re: More than you ever wanted to know about ranch dressing

3/4 cup mayonnaise (I use light)

3/4 cup sour cream (I use light)

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp lemon juice

3/4 cup buttermilk (use more or less to adjust consistency)

1 bunch chives

3 tbsp chopped parsley

1 tsp minced garlic

1/2 tsp salt

Mix mayo, sour cream, olive oil, lemon juice, 1/4 cup buttermilk, chives, parsley, garlic, and salt in blender for 10 seconds.  Add more buttermilk to desired taste and consistency.

Re: More than you ever wanted to know about ranch dressing

I hate, hate, hate ranch dressing. It is so gross.  I hate milk too and this stuff tastes a lot like milk.

Where I volunteer at school, the children put ranch dressing on everything...hot dogs, hamburgers, French fries, pancakes, spaghetti and even their pizza is dripping with this yuck.  They put it in cups and drink it with a straw.  LOL   I think they do this because the food is 100% prepared with no salt and lacks flavor.  I am sure the dressing contains salt.

Enjoy it if it is your thing.  I myself am a blue cheese gal, but mostly I just use EVO and wine vinegar.

Thank you SO much for this recipe!!!

I used to make panko coated chicken breast strips, fried in a bit of oil and then served with bottled Ranch Dressing from the market for dipping, until I came to realize in early 2017 from "lovestoteach" that there are numerous additives to foods, both boxed, canned, bottled and fresh(yes fresh), that cause migraine.  Read the label on my Ranch Dressing and every single bottle at the market and I was out of luck.  They all had at least one of the prohibited ingredients; and, btw, this has proved to be so true for me, as my chronic migraine days of spiked pain have decreased greatly.

Sooooo, I'm going to make up some chicken strips this week, along with your ranch recipe and we'll go a-dipping.

Thanks, again! ~ Rebecca

Our favorite here now is chipotle ranch dressing...ranch with chipotle peppers blended in...chipotles are smoked peppers...the ranch cools down the heat but the flavor is still there

Funny!  I almost made some today.  I use a a recipe that came with my Ninja.  I do lots of variations but always buttermilk, mayo, and vinegar or lemon juice.  It's nice with tarragon.
