Usually they are made up of butter, light brown sugar and flour.

 

I use for yeast coffee cakes and apple pies.

 

What are you using it for?

Crumb topping tends to get hard and crisp the longer it's baked.  To keep it soft, apply it to your baked good during the last half of baking.
