We celebrated the holiday yesterday with a picnic at a friends' home....Took "Salad on a Stick" and it was a hit. Special thanks to cece5231 for sharing her recipe. I also took along a new dessert recipe I tried. Anyone who's a fan of Tastykake's Candy Cakes will enjoy this one. This make a lot, but they disappeared quickly. Not a good idea for really hot weather, but just great for our current weather here in the East.

Tasty Cake

4 eggs

1/8 t. salt

2 cups sugar

1 cup milk

1 t. vanilla

2 t. baking powder

2 cups flour

2 t. margarine or butter

2 large chocolate bars (I used chocolate coating wafers)

Combine all cake ingredients and mix well. Pour into a greased and floured cookie sheet with sides. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. While cake is still warm, spread peanut butter over top until entire cake is covered. Set aside in refrigerator. Melt the chocolate. Spread over the layer of peanut butter. Refrigerate until chocolate is set. Cut into squares.

Enjoy....lots of our friends did!

StirFan, I'm glad you liked the salad on a stick. Whenever I fix them, they go very quickly. Pretty to look at and easy to make. I like that. Thanks for sharing your Tasty Cake recipe. Have copied it to make soon. Cece
