Pickwick, exactly, in my OP I said that "I" use condensed chicken soup. The dish, as you stated, can be meatless by using a meatless condensed soup.

And as I told bungo, if anyone has a problem with the name of the dish; don't cook it.

My household eats vegetarians.

Again, I gave it that name because I left out the cheese from the original recipe. I had to call it something else and didn't consider chicken soup as meat.

PS....chicken is a meat. If defined 'vegetarian', one does not eat meat, dairy or eggs. Vegetarianism 101.

I thought a vegetarian is one who doesn't eat meat.

A vegan would be someone who also avoids dairy (milk, eggs, cheese, etc.).

Vegetarians can still eat dairy products and eggs. It is vegans that don't eat any animal products or by-products. They are very strict.

You should take the remedial class.

Sounds delicious. I would use cream of mushroom soup.

Always enjoy discovering meatless side dishes that can also be used as main dishes. This sounds terrific. Thank you

I think it sounds delicious, too! (And yeah, a bit unhealthy - but no worse than grabbing a fast food meal, really.) One question - do you need to top the dish with stuffing? I don't care for stuffing, but I didn't know if that was important to the dish or not.
