I don't own a potato ricer. I'll have to get one so I can try it.

@On It  Whipped with butter, salt and hot milk. You have to be careful not to over mix, otherwise it turns into a gloppy mess. Did you know you can keep whipped potatoes fluffy for 2 or 3 hours in a crockpot on warm? A co-worker of mine told me about this 5  years ago. Life changing!! It means I can do them at my leisure tomorrow morning! Yea!

Mashed potatoes will also taste better and be less starchy on day 2 if you mash with sour cream in place of milk.

Re: Mashed or Whipped Potatoes?

I prefer mashed with an old-fashioned masher. Not whipped, not riced even.

My youngest grandniece LOVES my mashed potatoes.

Re: Mashed or Whipped Potatoes?

We only ate potatoes on Holidays.  Occasional french fries are the only ones I like.

Whipped potatoes with lots of butter and heavy cream with not a lump in sight.

I will eat ANY kind of potato.....as long as it is cooked...

Growing up we ate potatoes most everyday! Mashed, French fried, home fries, baked, boiled, roasted or potato salad. My dad didn't care for rice or pasta. He didn't like whipped potatoes either. He said there was nothing to chew! Lol! 🤣 I still love potatoes 😋 but rarely eat them due to the high number of carbohydrates.

@Desertdi post reminded me that I had a friend in Grammar school who ate raw potatoes for a snack like she was eating an apple! Yuck! 🤢 I have never eaten a raw potato and don't ever plan too! 🥔🍟😄
