A couple of months ago there was a recipe for a marinara sauce that sounded really good and I thought I copied it but I guess I didn't.

It was homemade, she cut her onion into 4 chunks, then the usual tomatoes and garlic but can't remember anything else I liked about it. I don't know if she added water, if she covered it, etc. If anyone remembers, please tell me-the chunk onions intrigued me-I have someone who hates onions. thnks

Re: Marinara sauce question?

I'm sorry I can't help you with the recipe. I'm kind of lazy and I make a simple sauce. I use a can of crushed tomatoes with basil. I add a chopped up onion 2 cloves of minced garlic, a pinch of oregano and basil seasoning. I cover it and let it simmer 20 or 30 minutes. I like it better than any jar sauce.

You might like this one that I pinned from Rachel Ray a short time ago.

She cut the onion in half, and removed it before serving.

Re: Marinara sauce question?

Oh, my, it was delicious. I doubled the garlic. Simple. Just as good as more complicated recipes.

Thank you.
