My mom used to make this all of the time and I just remembered it and asked her for the recipe...I plan to make it soon. It's very moist and good! Smile

Marble Squares (cake)

8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg

1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup water
1 1/2 squares unsweetened chocolate

2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

6 oz. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375. Combine softened cream cheese and sugar; mixing well. Add egg, mix well and set aside. In a sauce pan, combine butter, water and unsweetened chocolate. Bring to boil, remove from heat and stir in flour and sugar. Add eggs, sour cream, baking soda and salt. Mix well. Pour into greased and floured 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 jelly roll pan. Spoon cream cheese mixture over chocolate batter. Cut through batter with knife several times for a marbled effect. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
