In some parts of the country they are called long johns. Anyway, I looked around the internet and there was quite a few that claimed to taste just like the ones you get at the bakeries. All the ones I saw were deep fried. And maple bars do not taste like they are deep fried. They are very soft and chewy. Anyway, all the recipes I saw were pretty much the same so I tried it anyway. Well, the ones I made were crunchy on the outside and dense on the inside. Not at all what I was looking for. Anyone have a ecipe for a true maple bar?
Thanks, Susan
