I see and read how so many make lots of cookies (beautiful and delicious) for the holidays. How so many have finished their baking. I don't understand how they keep their cookies fresh from now until the New Year. I do a frenzy baking starting the 22nd; I hate it, it's exhausting because of all the other stuff I'm doing but if I don't, then we have stale cookies. Talking Toll House, Sugar and two other types all of which are time consuming. LOVE them, LOVE eating them, ONLY make them for Christmas, do I don't mind doing it and yet, I would LOVE to make them now versus later.
HOW do you who bake now keep them fresh for 3 weeks? Where do you store them so they are not all gone in 3 days? Yes, they would go that fast in my world. TIA.

Refrigerator or even freezer depending on the type of cookie works for me.

I put them in Ziploc bags and then put them into Lock & Lock containers and then into the freezer. HTH

You could freeze them. Or, if you live where it's cold outside, you could do as my mother does - store on an unheated sun porch. A side advantage is that they don't get eaten there - out of sight and out of mind.

We live in a 100-yr-old house with an attic, so I do something similar, @ValuSkr. We don’t have an attached garage or closed-in porch, so mine go up in the attic. I do my baking two weeks before Christmas.
The baby squirrel in the attic at Christmas is a story for another time...

I just saw a bit about this subject on the Internet this week. It stated that adding a piece of bread into the container will keep them fresh. I did not read too specifically as I don't bake. You might want to Goggle it....

@SahmIam, Years ago when I baked 12 different cookies for Christmas, I would store them in cookie tins lined with waxed paper. When I had friends over for dinners duing the holidays, I would serve the cookies for dessert. I am lucky if I make one batch of cookies now. Plus I don't want to end up eating them! Happy Holidays to everyone.

I have to admit I HATE this tip and wish it would go away. All the cookies smell and taste like bread!
I almost rather a stale cookie

This works great!
I also freeze cookie dough this way. I then slice and bake or roll into balls and bake and presto - warm, fresh cookies!!!
