MAPLE, BACON AND CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

I ate a spice cupcake at my neighbors with this frosting. Talked her into giving me the recipe.

1 pkg cream cheese (8oz), softened
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 T maple syrup
2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
1/4 cup chopped pecans, toasted
1/4 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (about three slices)

Beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth on medium speed. Add the maple syrup. With mixer on low gradually add the powdered sugar until thick and spreadable. Fold in the toasted pecans and bacon bits.

Makes about 3 cups. Frosts 12 cupcakes.

I had a cupcake at a fair last summer similar to that. I just wanted to try it. It was pretty good. Definitely not something to eat every day but it was tasty

Re: MAPLE, BACON AND CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

DH ate a brownie that had bacon baked into the topping at a street fair last month.

That's a *pass up* for me. No bacon, no egg.

Re: MAPLE, BACON AND CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

I had a bite of a maple bacon donut last week. Eww. However, my DH and his friends loved it. I will have to copy this and make it for him.
