Looking for this bean recipe

We went to a barbeque dinner at small community celebration yesterday. Pulled pork sandwiches were served with a bowl of beans. It was like a soup with pinto beans, shredded meat (the pork I think), jalapenos and spices. Anyone know this dish and have a recipe? It was so delicious. TIA
