I used to have all of the annual Pillsbury Bake-Off cookbooks (the little ones that you find in the supermarket), but many of them were lost in one of my moves.
Back in the 70s there was a chocolate spice cake, made in a 9 X 13 pan, that was wonderful. It had cinnamon, cloves, and I forget what else, but oh, it was so good!
I've looked on-line; I've looked through my cookbooks, and can't find that recipe anywhere. It's NOT the one with the filling. In fact, if any of you are from NYC (maybe other parts of the country), I remember getting, first in the school and later work cafeterias and delis, a similar cake, although it was an individually sized round, with a "bump" in the center, and had chocolate frosting. This recipe tasted just like those little cakes.
Might any of you have it? TIA
