Looking for Red Velvet Cookie Recipe

Hello Everyone, i was wondering if anyone had a recipe for a red velvet cookie that does not use box cake. Let me know. Thanks!

Jane Treacy posted Red Velvet Polka Drop Cookies last year in the lead up to the Quacker Factory Cookie exchange. I made them several times for Christmas, thank you for reminding me of them again to make for Valentine's Day. They include white chocolate chips, I am obsessed with the ones by Ghiradelli, can't keep them in the house because I'll eat the whole bag. To find the recipe, go to Jane's blog posts. It was on the second page if you go to "recent blog posts", not "most popular".

For the longest time, I have been wanting to ask this of someone who knows ...

Does Red Velvet actually have a flavor ... or is it just chocolate with red food coloring added? I've tasted it a few times, and all I tasted is a mild chocolate taste.
