Looking for Aldi's Baker's Corner cake recipe for Gooey Butter cake!

I cut the recipe for Gooey Butter cake off of the back of a cake box from Aldi a few years ago, and everyone I made it for said it was great. I thought so, too, Now my grandaughter's birthday is coming up next week and she requested it for her birthday cake. But it seems the recipe has disappeared, and I'm in trouble here. I've looked on Aldi's recipe web page, but it's not on there (??),

If anyone has this recipe, please post it so I can give my teen grand daughter the cake she really loves. I am so mad at myself for misplacing this recipe! I've never had another recipe that so many people unanimously agreed it was the best they'd ever had. Thanks for any help with this, folks. Lee

Re: Looking for Aldi's Baker's Corner cake recipe for Gooey Butter cake!

@lvbutcher  I searched on the internet.  There is a You Tube 13.33 minute Video by PPX Hero where a young boy (British I thinkk, based on accent) makes Aldi's Golden Butter Cake using one of the Aldi's mixes (white cake I think) which may be the one you want.

Couldn't find any print version for your Aldi's recipe.

Hope this helps.  Good luck with your search!

Is this it?

Oh, ooooops......

I guess this is bars, not a cake.

INGREDIENTS

Butter Cake Bars
Servings: 12

Base

1 box Baker's Corner Classic Yellow Cake Mix

1 stick Countryside Creamery Unsalted Butter

1 egg

Filling

8 ounces Happy Farms Cream Cheese, room temperature

2 eggs

2 teaspoons Stonemill Vanilla Extract

4 cups Baker's Corner Powdered Sugar, plus more for garnish

Fresh strawberries, sliced (optional garnish)

PREPARATION

1. Preheat oven to 350℉.

2. In a mixing bowl, blend together cake mix, butter, and egg until it becomes crumbly using a hand mixer.  Press the mixture into a 9x13-inch bake dish.

3. In another mixing bowl, blend together the cream cheese, eggs, vanilla extract until smooth.  Slowly add the powdered sugar, a cup at a time, until fully incorporated and smooth.  Pour over the top of the crust in the pan.

4. Bake 25-30 minutes until filling is set and top is golden brown.

5. Cool completely.  Garnish with powdered sugar and fresh berries if desired.

6. Enjoy!

@ChiliPepper, your recipe is a classic of the St. Louis Gooey Butter Cake recipe - my hometown is where this wonderful cake originated. Yours is a great recipe - the gooey butter cake is not supposed to be fluffy at all. It's more of a flat "cake" just like the bars that are pictured. IMO you have the cake recipe as well as bars as some people like to call them!

Could not find it. I live near an excellent German Bakery, so I never made it, I  just go there.

I did find this -

OOPS! @ChiliPepper looks like you posted a similar recipe.

WHAT INGREDIENTS DO YOU NEED?

FOR THE CAKE:

  • 1 18 1/4-ounce package of yellow cake mix
  • 1 egg
  • 16 tablespoons melted butter (divided)

FOR THE FILLING:

  • 8-ounce package of cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 16-ounce box powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

HOW TO PREPARE OOEY GOOEY BUTTER CAKE?

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Combine the cake mix with the egg and 8 tablespoons of butter (about half a stick). Mix well with an electric mixer until all ingredients are well combined. The mixture needs to be completely homogenous.
  • Grease a 9×13 baking pan. Press the mixture into the bottom of the pan.
  • In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until it’s smooth.
  • Add the eggs, 8 tablespoons of butter (about half a stick), and vanilla. Beat them together until they’re fully incorporated.
  • When the mixture is ready, add the powdered sugar and mix well.
  • Spread over cake batter.
  • Bake for 40 to 50 minutes.

Important notice: Make sure not to overbake your cake. The center should be a little gooey.

Paula Deen, make butter, gooey, cake famous, I think she’s got 50 different kinds and they’re all absolutely delicious, before she became famous. She had a little business, delivering meals, sandwiches, and stuff. And that was a regular dessert that she put in her meal kits, I have a hard time posting stuff here so I don’t know how to get it but I know that it’s under her name on Google. I really love her pumpkin you a cake delicious.

@ChiliPepper ...1 box yellow cake mix - I have not bought a box cake mix in years - is there a standard size that I need to look for?

The brand is not something I will find in my area, I will have to use something sold in my grocery.  thanks for the recipe!

Baker's Corner is the brand that ALDI carries!  It has a website with recipes.

Any brand of yellow cake mix should work fine.
