What will you make for meatless Fridays and Ash Wednesday? Tuna noddle casserole is my Ash Wednesday dish but not sure about the other days. TIA

Lent is here for sure. Unfortunately I'm allergic to fish, so I have to look for a pasta or vegetarian option.

I hear you - other than tuna casserole my family isn't big on fish. Baked (meatless) ziti is a go to for me during Lent.

I have a freezer full of salmon and halibut my dh caught on a fishing trip. Will fill in with shrimp and meatless days will be pasta dishes, veggie pizza and cheese sandwiches.

Mac and cheese, Spinach pie, Spaghetti and broccoli, pirogi, pastafagioli, spaghetti and clams.
I'm getting hungry.

We aren't asked to have meatless Friday's, but I still like to make fish, fries and coleslaw for our Fruday night meal - salmon for DH, and cod for me. I'm a fan of veggie sub sandwiches and DH likes tuna subs.

I stopped doing Lent when I was a young teen. Haven't even considered doing it. Husband isn't Catholic and I haven't been Catholic since I was in my teens. I do remember fish sticks and macaroni every Friday.

We do meatless meals 3-4 times a week. Seafood lovers here. We have crab cakes often. Also baked cod, salmon or lobster tails. Sam's club sells lobster tails ...6 for about $23.
If I can find Shad, my favorite, I buy that too.
My DH loves king crab legs...I eat a few. I make oyster stew or clam chowder.
We eat loaded omelets...mushrooms, cheese, onions, peppers. Linguine and shrimp with broccoli is good. We both love scallops. Veggie and cheese lasagna is yummy. I love fish tacos and shrimp fajita's
I grew up eating grilled cheese and tomato soup...or clam chowder or fish and Mac and cheese, or tuna fish salad during lent. Also cheese ravioli, pizza and potato soup.
My mother also used to cook elbow macaroni and heat it with tomato juice and add a can of Campbells baked beans....after picking out the piece of bacon on top. When my kids were young and we ran out of money and groceries, I made this for them.
I was surprised when my son called me while stationed in NC in the air force and asked me for the recipe. I asked him immediately if he needed money. He said he didn't and had no idea I served this when we were poor. We got a laugh from it.
