@SharkE, thanks for recommending Laura's cookbook. I got it in the mail today, ordered from Amazon. This book has lots of recipes I have never heard of and can't wait to try.

Ladies, I bought this book a couple of months ago and just made the coffee cake yesterday and it was just simply delicious.  Next time I will just use less of the sugar mix you set aside to sprinkle around in the middle and on top. It was too much. I swore off buying more cookbooks, but am glad I have this one especially if all of the recipes are as good. Looking forward to trying more in the new year.
