This cheese and herb beer bread is an easy recipe that is crazy good served with a steaming pot of chili or simply enjoyed with butter.
Course: Baking, Beer bread, Bread
Servings: 6
Author: Alida Ryder
Ingredients
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 x 340ml bottle beer of your choice
  • 1.5 cups grated mature cheddar
  • 3 tablespoons fresh herbs chopped (I used parsley, thyme and basil)
Instructions
  1. Pre-heat the oven to 170°c and grease a loaf tin well.
  2. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Add 1 cup of the cheese and herbs and mix well then pour in the beer and mix until just combined.
  4. Transfer the dough to the prepared loaf tin then scatter over the remaining cheese and place in the oven.
  5. Bake for 45-60 minutes until the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
  6. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 20-30 minutes before serving.

@Nightowlz

you are the best for posting!  Some ppl don't like to use links it seems and you always post!  Thanks!

Help anyone?

170 deg C

I found an online conversion and it told me that equals 5746 F !!

I don't think my oven goes that high!  LOL  I stink at googling stuff!

Does anyone know the conversion to our ovens?

PS and by the way...

Kacky has posted a Beer Bread Recipe that is fantastic!  I have made it so many times and it is so EASY and delicious (don't skimp on the butter!!)

You can find it by searching above...it has also been reposted on the Potsticker Soup Thread as well.   I use Honey Brown beer!  It is a great recipe!

Also, on the Potsticker Soup thread @ChiliPepper   posted a recipe for Blue Moon Orange Beer Bread just recently.  I am trying that one this weekend.

@RespectLife.  Not exact but if you double the C. Then add 30, it gives you an about but not exact F. That formula comes to 370.
