Sesame Green Beans

 

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon canola oil

1 1/2 teaspoons sesame oil 

1 pound fresh green beans, washed (I use a steam-in-bag, cooked)

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

 

Directions

Warm a large skillet or wok over medium heat.

 

When the skillet is hot, pour in canola and sesame oils, then place whole green beans into the skillet.

 

Stir the beans to coat with oil. Cook until the beans are bright green and slightly browned in spots, about 10 minutes.

 

Remove from heat, and stir in soy sauce; cover, and let sit about 5 minutes.

 

Transfer to a serving platter, and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.

 

Next ingredient:  Rice

@house_cat   These are really good.  I don't like green beans "al dente"  I like them well done!  Hope you enjoy them like we do!

Quick Italian Chicken and RICE

 

2 teaspoons vegetable oil

1 package (12-14oz) chicken breast tenders (not breaded)

1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasoning (or more if needed)

1 can (14.5oz) Italian-Style Stewed Tomatoes, undrained

1 1/2 cups uncooked instant white RICE

3/4 cup water

 

Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat.  Sprinkle

chicken tenders on all sides with Italian Seasoning; add to skillet.  Cook 5-6 minutes; stirring constantly until chicken is browned and no longer pink in center.

 

Stir in tomatoes and 3/4 cup water.  Heat to boiling.  Stir in RICE.  Cover and remove from heat.  Let stand 5 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.

 

NEXT INGREDIENT .... LEMON JUICE or LIME JUICE

@momtochloe   @Zhills  @house_cat .....and anyone else interested......momtochloe, you start us off so nice each month...thank you.  Zhills and house_cat you are regular contributors here too....thank you.  To all others who post good recipes, thank you.  It seems recently I am noticing less and less participation.  There are a lot of new recipes being posted but not part of monthly game.  OK with me to let game go.  Your thoughts?

PAN ROASTED LEMON POTATOES WITH DILL (10 mins)

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. baby red or yellow potatoes
  • 3 to 4 tbsp. butter
  • 1 lemon, juice of (I use bottled juice)
  • 2 tsp fresh snipped dill (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Place the whole potatoes in a shallow, microwave safe glass bowl in a single layer (you may need to do two batches if they don't all fit). Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, making sure to the potatoes are not touching the plastic wrap.
  2. Microwave on high for 4 minutes and 30 seconds. Be careful when removing from microwave, as the dish will be very hot. Uncover and slice each potato in half.
  3. Meanwhile heat a large cast iron skillet over medium heat. When the skillet is hot toss in the potatoes, 3 tbsp of butter and 1/2 of the lemon juice, stir to coat the potatoes. Season with salt and pepper, and the dill. Let the potatoes caramelize in the pan, by stirring just twice per minute, until they are golden brown on all sides. Add more butter and more lemon juice if desired. Enjoy!

Made it yesterday. It's yummy and easy.  I used the Half and Half and it wouked out just fine.  My wimpy tstebuds rec using just one of the spice Packets next time  and there Will be a next time!

So easy and just yummy!

 

BREAKFAST SAUSAGE  by Vabelle

 

Ingredients

 

2 teaspoons dried sage

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

1 pinch ground cloves

2 pounds ground pork

 

Directions

 

In a small, bowl; combine the sage, salt, ground black pepper, marjoram, brown sugar, crushed red pepper and cloves.

Mix well.

Place the pork in a large bowl and add the mixed spices to it.

Mix well with your hands and form into patties.

Sauté the patties in a large skillet over medium high heat for 5 minutes per side, or until internal pork temperature reaches 160 degrees F .
