In the mood for either "Watergate" salad or "Ambrosia" salad.

I'll decide before we shop again. Some of the same ingredients are in both, but not all. Is there something you've felt like making that you haven't had in months?

Please share if it is one of those special ones.

This year, I'd love to see some recipes that are regional for each of us. Like if your state is in abundance of a fruit or vegetable, and you have a few ways to prepare and serve them?

I'd gotten rid of zucchini recipes a number of years ago, so I'd like to see more of those this year. Thanks.

Always loved "watergate salad", brings back old memories of my mother making it, we need a new name for it, LOL!

@qualitygal I LOVE Watergate Salad, BUT, DH is allergic to nuts, so I make a batch once every couple of years when we have people over, store bought is just not the same to me

 Watergate Salad: Tara McConnel's:

1) Place instant pistachio pudding mix, crushed pineapple with juice, and cottage cheese in a 1.5 qt. temptaions mixing bowl or circular baking dish, and stir until well combined.  You can use a 2 qt. bakig dish for easier mixing, but the presentation won't be as full.)

2) Fold minature marshmallows and pecans into the mixture.

3) Fold the non-dairy whipped topping into the mixture swirling together until almost entirely combined, but leaving a few swirls of white for presentation.

4) Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

1 box 3-4 oz., instant pistachio pudding mix.

1, 20 oz. can crushed pineapple

3/4 C. cottage cheese, opt.

1 rounded cup miniature marshmallows

1/2 C. chopped pecans

4 oz. or (1/2 tub) regular or light non-dairy whipped topping.

For those of you who don't know what this is. You may have another name for it.

Talk about bringing back memories.  I used to make both of these often in the late 70's and throughout the 80's.  They were a step up from jello molds with fruit that mom's made when I was a kid.
