@northiie57  As @BunSnoop  I use the Stove Top recipe too. The family has always loved it. I do a free-form loaf and cover it with a combination of ketchup and BBQ sauce. I use either a meatball mix or ground beef.

Ingredients

1 cup water
2 lb. lean ground beef or a combo of beef and pork  (if you use 80/20 it’s going to fall apart)
1 pkg. (6-1/4 oz.) STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix, any variety
 2 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup KRAFT Original Barbecue Sauce, divided  or use ketchup (or a mixture of both)

Directions:

Mix all ingredients except 1/4 cup of the barbecue sauce.
SHAPE meat mixture into oval loaf in 13x9-inch baker or a sheet pan; top with remaining 1/4 cup barbecue sauce.  (I use a sheet pan lined with foil and parchment paper, but if you have a ceramic 9 x 13 baker, it will be easier to remove) BAKE at 375°F for 1 hour or until center is no longer pink.

@Ainhisg that's the way I make mine too.  Nothing better than a hearty meatloaf!

My family's favorite is Dutch meatloaf.  I got the recipe from a Hunts Cook book.  It's really easy and uses so few ingredients.  I always make double the sauce.

The recipe doesn't say so, but I whip up the sauce in the blender.  It gets thick and stays on the meat better and doesn't all run to the bottom of the pan.

I discovered making meatloaf with stove top many years ago, and have made it that way ever since.  It's my absolute favorite meatloaf recipe.  Easy and delicious.

We love meatloaf; I grew up with a mushroom sauce and it's sooo good!

I started making "Burger Bundles" or individual size patties to cut down on cooking time during the week.

Mushroom Meatloaf or Burger Bundles

350 degrees

2 lbs ground round (or I lb ground round and one lb ground pork, not sausage, ground.).

2 pieces of well toasted bread, crumbled

2 stalks celery, chopped

1 med onion, chopped

1 egg

Milk to moisten

2 cans Campbell’s mushroom soup with 1 ½ can water, mixed

Mix all EXCEPT SOUP AND WATER.

Form into a loaf in a 9 x 13 casserole.

Bake for 45 min to 1 hr, and spoon off all fat.

Add mushroom soup and water.

Bake for an additional 1 –1 ½ hr, basting frequently until gravy thickens.

For Bundles, Patty out the size of hamburgers.

Lightly brown in frying pan, spoon off grease.

                      Add soup and water.

Lightly simmer and baste until gravy thickens.

The best ground beef I can buy.  If I am in a hurry, I put ground beef and chunky salsa only, throw in the pan, bake and put ketchup on the top toward the end.

Sometimes I add Italian breadcrumbs but not many, sometimes oatmeal but very little. Maybe some finely chopped onion and green pepper,  NEVER eggs.

Since I live alone, I make meatloaf burgers and cook them in a frying pan, then freeze for future meals.

My meatloaf recipe:  ground turkey, eggs (one/lb. meat), seasoned bread crumbs, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, liquid smoke, onion, green pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese.

Glad I made it and it was very good!....Doctors orders I cannot consume sodium and have to tweek good recipes.  The veal was a given as I usually do not buy it and I mixed it with the lean beef and just kept it simple .....little chopped garlic and onion, couple of eggs and bread crumbs, no  salt seasonings.....my son lives in the big house in front with my dil and grandson and I live in the back studio apartment.  I brought it over and my son is a chef and said it was delish! So a good score for my many attempts too keep salt out of my diet....just do not want to end up in hospital again....thanks again ladies for all the input Smiley Happy
