David just showed a crockpot cookbook and a recipe called "Gooey Cookie Desssrt".  I know it was easy, but I missed the amounts and cooking time wasn't given.  Could not find it on line, either. Can someone please post the recipe if they have it.

Thank you.

If you know the name of the book, you can probably find the recipe on-line with a little detective work.

Coffeedrinker - I found it for you in one of the Fix-It and Forget-It books that the Champions Cookbook being sold today pulled it from. Hopefully it had ice cream.

Gooey Cookie Dessert

Sue Hamilton - Benson, AZ

Makes 8 servings

Prep Time:  10 minutes

Cooking Time: 2  hours

Ideal Slow Cooker size: 5qt

Ingredients:

3 1/2 cups of full fat vanilla ice cream (half of a 1.75 quart container)

16.5 oz roll refrigerator ready-to-bake chocolate chip cookie dough

Directions:

1. Turn empty slow cooker to High to preheat

2. Place ice cream in warm crock, spreading and pushing it to make it a layer. Lumps are fine - they will melt.

3. Slice cookie dough into 12 slices

4. Press the slices into the ice cream

5. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours, until edges are browning and the center is cooked.

Tips:

Great served warm with whipped cream. It might be good cold but there is never any left. Instead of measuring the ice cream, I cut the container in half. It saves the mess of measuring.

If you want your bar cookies to have clean edges, use a pizza cutter to cut them.

Variations:

Use different ice creams and different cookies - there are many flavor options!

Vickie, that's the recipe that I was looking for.  Thank you so very much.  When I make it, I'll invite you over for a taste.  Thanks, again.
