No seafood please. Something different.

I have often served Litehouse Jalapeño Ranch Dressing!! There is even a Lite version. I serve it with all kinds of veggies - carrots, cucumbers, mushrooms, baby tomatoes etc. People love it and it goes quickly! Have never tried with chips...and am not sure that it would be good.

Re: I need a recipe for a dip to take to a party

8 oz of sour cream

8 oz of mayo

1/2 smallish white onion, finely minced

3 tbls of dill seed

Mix it up a day ahead so the flavors have time to develop.

Some use dill weed instead, but I learned it using seed and IMO, it's prettier and tastier.

I like to serve this in a round of rye bread. Cut out the center of the round and put the dip in, like a bread bowl. What you cut out can be cubed and dipped. It's also good with veggies, crackers, chips and in place of sour cream on a baked potato.

Cheddar Ranch Dip/Spread: 8 oz. cream cheese, softened; 1/2 cup sour cream; .07 oz. (approx) packet ranch dressing mix; 1 cup shredded cheddar. Beat cream cheese until fluffy, then beat in rest of ingredients. If you want it more of a dip than a spread, beat in some milk to desired consistency. Sorry no paragraphs.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

2 cans (12.5 oz each) canned chicken breast (drained)

1 cup Frank's Red Hot

2 bars (8 oz each) cream cheese

1 cup ranch salad dressing

8 oz cheddar cheese, shredded

Put the drained chicken and the Red Hot in a pan & warm over medium heat. Add cream cheese, ranch, & cheddar cheese. Cook until cheese is melted. Can make in crock pot also.

Serve warm with tortilla chips

This dip may not be sophisticated enough. It's no cook, no mix anything, and so simple for as good as it tastes. I like it for more casual events.

Pepper Jelly Dip

1 block of cream cheese (more blocks, depending on what you need)

1 jar of red OR green pepper jelly (depending on the heat you want)

a variety of crackers or one type (whatever you prefer)

********************************************************

Place block of cream cheese on a pretty dish. Pour the jelly over the cream cheese. Put crackers around the cream cheese or put them in a cracker tray next to the dip. (I like a cracker tray so that jelly doesn't soften the crackers.)

Note: The jelly will eventually melt the cream cheese, but when I've served this, it's gone before it melts. I like to serve two blocks of cream cheese--one with green jelly and one with red and put a cracker tray between them on the table.

I have tried both the Buffalo Chicken Dip and the Pepper Jelly (Harry & David version). They were both VERY GOOD!

Re: I need a recipe for a dip to take to a party

Caramelized Onion Dip

2 cups of sliced onion

3/4 cup mayo

3/4 sour cream

Salt and pepper to taste

Sauté the onions in vegetable oil, let cool, and stir into mayo and sour cream. Add salt and pepper to taste.

I usually double this because it's always a big hit...

Re: I need a recipe for a dip to take to a party

I have a very simple dip - deviled ham (one large can) and two bricks of cream cheese (or two larger tubs of whipped cream cheese if you prefer). Just blend them together and serve with crackers. SUPER easy yet super tasty - every time I make it, it is gobbled up!
