One of my students asked me to do a Zoom cooking session with her for part of our daily news broadcast. It's a Halloween theme, and I've never been much of a Halloween enthusiast, so I'm kind of stumped.
It needs to be simple and quick and something kids would like to eat and make... and nut-free. (except for me, lol)
I'm afraid to look on Pinterest, because I know I'll get caught up in it and waste valuable time.
Does anyone have a tried and true recipe I could use?
Thank you.

Every Holloweenie my father made candied apples. Kids from all over came to our house just for the candied apples. Receipe can be found on the www.

If you knew the crowd I run with, you might not think that's the best idea....

@house_cat Here is a brownie tray I made last year that was super easy. I used a boxed brownie mix. Colored shredded coconut slightly to make it light green for the grass on top of the brownies and used the pumpkin and candy corn candies for decorations. I found the RIP tombstone templates somewhere online that I printed on thick card stock paper. Search for RIP clipart and I bet you'll find it. Then the students can help with the funny names on the tombstones. Have fun with your students. I am a teacher, too, teaching class on Zoom these days.

How about some ghost toast. Everyone should have the supplies and it would definitely be easy and quick. Fun and not more sweets.
ETA: Instead of just the eyes being jam, I might do the mouth as well. This way you get more jam and it would be easier to create different faces.

My granddaughter and I few years back did the Witch hat cookies. We had a blast.
